The State Prosecutor's Office is a unique and independent state body that prosecutes perpetrators of criminal offenses and other punishable offenses that are prosecuted ex officio.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Bar was established for the area of ​​the Basic Court in Bar, that is, for the area of ​​the municipality of Bar, which means that under its authority it has a territory where more than 40,000 inhabitants live.

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar is responsible for prosecuting the perpetrators of those crimes for which a fine or a prison sentence of up to 10 years is prescribed as the main penalty, with the exception of those crimes that are placed under the jurisdiction of the High Court, i.e. the prosecutor's office acting before this court. 

In this prosecutor's office, the prosecutor's function is performed by the head Radovan Đurišić and six state prosecutors, while the act on internal organization and systematization determines the required number of advisers, officials and employees. 

The headquarters of the prosecution is in Bar, at 5 Bulevar Revolucije Street, in the building that houses the Basic Court in Bar, the Court for Misdemeanors, the Commission for Compensation and Restitution of Property, the Department of the Administration for Inspection Affairs. 

The employees of this prosecutor's office invest maximum effort and work to perform their work professionally, conscientiously and in a timely manner, and on the basis of such attitude and work, we believe that this prosecutor's office is recognized in society, but also in the state prosecution organization itself, as an expert and professional institution, which, through taking actions and measures within its jurisdiction, has been dealing with all the challenges that define the fight against crime in modern society.
