The Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office has adopted the Action Plan for the Implementation of the War Crimes Investigation Strategy 2024–2027, covering the period 2026–2027, which represents an important step towards improving the efficiency of prosecuting war crimes cases.
The aim of the Action Plan is to maintain continuity and full commitment to the implementation of operational activities in order to further improve the quality of proceedings in these cases.
The Action Plan provides for a number of concrete measures aimed at improving the work of the prosecution service in the area of war crimes, strengthening the professional capacities of state prosecutors through specialization and training, as well as intensifying cooperation with domestic and international institutions.
We recall that all 28 activities envisaged by the Action Plan for 2024/2025 were successfully implemented, while the new Action Plan defines activities whose implementation will lead to the desired results in the area of war crimes.
The new Action Plan was developed with the support of the “EU Support to Confidence-Building in the Western Balkans” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
