Stronger Regional Cooperation and EUROJUST Support in the Fight Against Organized Crime

A delegation of the State Prosecutor’s Office of Montenegro participated in the Third Meeting of the Consultative Forum of Chief and Special Prosecutors of the Western Balkans, held on 19 May 2026 in Sarajevo and organized by the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (EUROJUST).

The forum was dedicated to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the prosecution of organized and cross-border crime, as well as improving mechanisms for information exchange, coordination of investigations, and joint action by competent prosecution authorities, with the support of EUROJUST.

The delegation of the State Prosecutor’s Office of Montenegro consisted of Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković, Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, Liaison Prosecutor to EUROJUST Jelena Đaletić, and State Prosecutor seconded to the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, Maja Janković.

During the forum, representatives of the State Prosecutor’s Office held a meeting with the President of EUROJUST, Michal Šmíd, who praised the existing cooperation and the results achieved by the prosecution service.

Meetings were also held with the heads of prosecution offices from countries across the region, during which further directions for cooperation in cross-border crime cases were discussed, as well as opportunities to enhance operational connectivity and the effectiveness of joint investigations.

Participation in the forum represents a continuation of ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening international judicial cooperation.
