The Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro, Ayda Unlu, at the premises of the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office.
Marković welcomed Ambassador Unlu and wished her a successful term in Montenegro, emphasizing the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation between the prosecutorial offices of Montenegro and Turkey in the area of international legal assistance and the fight against all forms of crime.
The interlocutors agreed that this meeting serves as an additional impetus for further strengthening cooperation between the prosecutorial offices of the two countries through the exchange of experiences, expertise, and the enhancement of institutional capacities.
“Continuous cooperation between the prosecutorial offices of Montenegro and Turkey is crucial for more effective handling of criminal proceedings in cases with international elements, strengthening mutual trust, and improving operational coordination in the fight against all forms of crime,” was noted at the meeting.
According to the prosecution, Marković informed Ambassador Unlu about the priorities of the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office and the reforms being implemented, highlighting the commitment to further strengthen the independence, professionalism, and efficiency of the state prosecutorial organization.
“Ambassador Unlu expressed the Republic of Turkey’s readiness to continue supporting cooperation in the judiciary through the organization of joint activities and the exchange of best practices,” they emphasized.
Good judicial cooperation is in the mutual interest of both countries, and in the upcoming period, specific modalities for its further enhancement will be considered, the interlocutors concluded.
