Supreme State Prosecutor and President of the Prosecutorial Council Milorad Markovi\u0107 addressed participants during the opening session of the training \u201cProfessional Evaluation of State Prosecutors in Montenegro\u201d, held on 15 and 16 June at the Faculty of Political Science in Podgorica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markovi\u0107 emphasised the importance of continuously improving the professional evaluation system for state prosecutors, noting that clear and objective criteria are an important prerequisite for strengthening the quality and efficiency of the work of the State Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is very important that prosecutors conducting evaluations are well acquainted with and understand the evaluation indicators, so that all state prosecutors are assessed in an equal, objective and impartial manner. Only the consistent application of established criteria can ensure fairness and trust in the evaluation system,\u201d the Supreme State Prosecutor stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur common goal is to establish clear standards and rules that will further improve the functioning of the prosecution service, strengthen professional accountability and contribute to greater efficiency in its work,\u201d Markovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to the Council of Europe for organising the training through the project \u201cStrengthening Accountability in the Judicial System and Improving Victims\u2019 Rights in Montenegro\u201d, as well as for its previous support in the process of developing the Rules for the Evaluation of State Prosecutors and Heads of State Prosecutor\u2019s Offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


That the evaluation system is built on solid foundations is also confirmed by the latest European Commission report on the rule of law, which recognises efforts to strengthen professional standards, accountability and transparency in the work of the judiciary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ljiljana \u0160o\u0161ki\u0107, President of the Governing Board of the Centre for Training in the Judiciary and State Prosecutor\u2019s Office, and Lejla Dervi\u0161agi\u0107, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Podgorica, also addressed the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day of the training, Armin Selmanovi\u0107 also had an opportunity to speak, presenting participants with the new framework for evaluating state prosecutors, including the evaluation criteria and methodology, as well as the roles and responsibilities of evaluation panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training, attended by heads of state prosecutor\u2019s offices, state prosecutors and representatives of the Prosecutorial Council, provides an opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge of the new evaluation system, exchange experiences and further strengthen their capacities for its consistent and uniform application in practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
